November – Review
As we progress into December, it is important to look back at the difference one month has made. Starting on November 3, The Riverhounds Academy began the process of installing many of its core skill sets and values into each Academy player. While many of these skills may appear basic and simple on the surface, they beg for high levels of concentration and control.
In examining the training sessions thus far, it should be clear that The Academy’s focus is individual skill cultivation. Each training session is designed to focus on the technical and tactical aspects of the game through repetition and the careful monitoring of that repetition by our staff. The 1.5 hour sessions are set according to a time schedule used to ensure efficient and effective learning for all players.
From the basics of ball control to the demands of passing, November was built around “the basics”. From this point, the curriculum will pick up steam as we look to incorporate the basics in low and high pressure scenarios. Those players who consistently perform the basics successfully will undoubtedly rise to the next level.
